Job Description
Aplin has partnered with our client to recruit for the permanent position of Controller, located in Winnipeg Manitoba.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the accounting department to ensure they meet the operational goals of the finance department.
- Prepare year end financial reporting and analysis on financial reports.
- Develop and implement financial controls.
- Coordinate the year end audit process.
- Assist with the annual budget process.
- Implement change management to drive efficiencies within the organization.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all operational accounting functions.
- Coach, mentor, and train all accounting team members.
- Review indirect cost allocations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Assist with special projects related to continuous improvement within the organization.
- A professional accounting designation is REQUIRED.
- Advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience in a fast paced environment is required.
- Experience with JD Edward is considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
