Overview

Experience BC, the region's leader in tours and transportation, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations, business development, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization's growth. This role requires expertise in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliation. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports to present to management. Develop and monitor budgets to ensure effective financial planning and resource allocation. Conduct account analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software systems such as QuickBook. Assist with business development and strategic planning Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making processes. Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors as necessary.

Experience

Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar accounting role is essential. Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or similar platforms. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to budgeting, payroll, account reconciliation, and analysis. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information clearly to management. An interest in business development and strategic planning is preferred.
