ABOUT THE CLIENT

Impact recruitment has partnered with a boutique law firm that specializes in family law, personal injury, estate litigation, commercial and civil litigation. Known for their excellent work ethic and tactical proficiency, they are a leader in their niche and are currently looking to add an experienced controller to their team! The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the COO, the controller will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Manage day-to-day financial and accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, billings and cashflow function for all the entities.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, cashflow statements and other ad hoc management reports.
• Manage the firm\xe2\x80\x99s trust accounting and reporting to law society of BC.
• Develop the annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts as well as work on variance analysis.
• Oversee the firm\xe2\x80\x99s cash flow and overall financial position to ensure sufficient funds are available.
• Conduct financial analysis, such as evaluating investment opportunities, assessing profitability, and identifying cost saving measures.
• Work in collaboration with the CRA, external auditors and bankers as needed.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team and streamline accounting policies and procedures.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary: $80,000 to $110,000
• 3 weeks\xe2\x80\x99 vacation
• Extended health and dental

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 to 7 years of accounting experience.
• Diploma or degree in accounting
• CPA designation is an asset.
