As Purpose Unlimited Inc. continues its growth, we seek a dynamic controller to join Purpose as a senior member of the finance team. The role will focus on our asset management (Purpose Investments) and wealth (Purpose Advisor Solutions) divisions. The controller will be responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, process excellence, and collaboration with business leaders to drive value. This high-impact role combines leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on involvement across the finance function.



Responsibilities:



Lead and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual standalone and consolidated financial statements under IFRS for the Asset Management and Wealth businesses, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with company and regulatory policies. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the financial operations of the Wealth business, collaborating closely with the existing team to ensure the delivery and continuous improvement of a best-in-class finance function. Own the asset management and wealth regulatory reporting process, coordinating timely, accurate submissions to securities regulators and other stakeholders. Lead and coordinate external audit activities, including supporting schedules, responding to queries, and providing comprehensive documentation to ensure an efficient and timely process. Assess current accounting, reporting, and operational processes; design and implement process improvements and internal controls to support scale and growth. Champion AI-driven solutions within the finance team to automate reporting, enhance data analytics, and support scalable, efficient decision-making as the business grows. Guide the business and financial teams on technical accounting matters in accordance with IFRS guidelines. Provide actionable insights for business decision-making and develop value-add analysis and recommendations on an ad hoc basis. Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, integrity, and performance. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, collaborating closely with business unit heads to proactively address opportunities and challenges as the business scales.

Qualifications:



CPA designation required; advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience in asset management, investment funds, or wealth management, including at least 2 years in a Controller or senior finance leadership capacity. Demonstrated expertise in IFRS-based financial reporting for investment/asset management firms. Hands-on experience with regulatory reporting requirements for investment funds and registered wealth businesses. Exceptional process improvement, problem-solving, and project management skills. Proficiency with major ERP/accounting/reporting tools (Oracle, Workday, etc.) and advanced Excel skills. Netsuite experience an asset. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with ability to influence and partner at all levels. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment. High integrity, business acumen, and a passion for building scalable, resilient teams and processes.
