This position is based out of Toronto, ON and reports into the Head of Finance for LGC Standards.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll doManage Finance Employees

Manage Financial Reporting and Controllership functions
  • Liaise with the third-party shared-services provider to ensure that the service provided is in line with agreed SLA
  • Ensure month end and year end close is completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Issue monthly and annual financial reports and review variance with Directors and Managers as required
  • Manage financial audits
  • Oversee all LGC Canada financial accounting including AR, AP, Fixed Assets and General Ledger accounting under International Financial Reporting Standards supported by a local team as well as the third party shared service provider
  • Oversee Toronto Research Chemicals inventory accounting (80,000 sku\xe2\x80\x99s) and cost accounting, including Scientific Research Tax Credit calculations. Administer the finance side of the inventory cycle count process \xe2\x80\x93 MOVE TO FP&A
  • Oversee the CDN Isotopes (a smaller Montreal based subsidiary that operates independently) financial controller and results
  • Oversee monthly close process for all TRC functions
  • Oversee various filings for items such as WSIB, SRED and Stats Canada
  • Engage with LGC divisional office in the UK on business accounting issues
  • Engage with LGC Corporate office in the UK on IFRS accounting issues
  • Lead internal control implementation improvement \xe2\x80\x93 ultimately to a SOX standard
  • Take the lead in working with Group and local statutory external auditors
  • Oversee provision of adequate HST and US state tax information to LGC international tax team who file the various returns
  • Team with LGC Finance IT to improve reporting metrics using the IFS ERP system and associated data base mines \xe2\x80\x93 Business Objects and Tableau
QualificationsEducation
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Accounting designation (CPA)
  • Minimum 5-10 years in multinational financial reporting environment
Competencies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with particular attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Good critical thinking and analytical skills to proactively identify and resolve problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, manage and develop team members.
