again! We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our Corporate Finance team in Barrie, ON.

Summary:




The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the Director of Finance, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of their group of companies. You will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing internal controls.

Job Duties:



Oversee the issuance of financial information (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, general ledgers, specific operational reports). Oversee the monthly close process, prepare and review journal entries, reporting, variance analysis. Manages the Company's general ledger and chart of accounts structure. Serves as a leader on the finance team, including providing coaching and development to a growing team of direct and indirect reports. (payroll, accounts payable, inventory control, accounts receivable and statutory reporting). Assist Director of Finance in the development of tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Shareholder(s) and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. Assess financial performance and work with Leadership teams to drive profitability and business processes. Knowledge and experience with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises). Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls. Assist and make recommendations relating to business process optimization and implementation with upgrade of current ERP systems. (Microsoft Navision/Business Central) Assist in the development and implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Assess organizational performance against the annual budget and assist Director of Finance in preparation of forecasting and budgeting tools as well as monitoring progress and financial metrics against targets. Monitors cash flow to determine the optimal financial strategy. Assists with reporting (Quick books) relating to Shareholders activities and company foundational charity "Roots for Youth" Oversee financial management of operations to include developing financial policies and procedures. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. Manage the annual audit process. Establishes, maintains, and communicates accounting compliance requirements for new and existing accounting standards. Assists with special projects as needed.

Requirements:



+ Professional accounting designation (CPA), university degree in Accounting/Business/Finance, with 8+ or more years of accounting experience, ideally including a minimum of 5+ years of management level industry experience. + Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
+ Willing to be hands on when needed to achieve goals but can tell the story behind the numbers.
+ Strong work ethic and team oriented.
+ Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
+ Advanced Microsoft office skills are required (e.g. pivot table, VLOOKUP).
+ Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
+ Experience with ERP systems is required, Microsoft Navision/Business Central/Quick Books is a definite asset.
+ Familiarity with Power BI and database would be an advantage.
+ Ability to motivate teams to produce quality information and simultaneously manage several projects.
+ Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
+ Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organization skills.
+ Knowledge of federal, provincial, financial and tax regulations.
+ High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
+ Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
