Controller

to lead our corporate financial management functions with precision, insight, and integrity.



This is a high-impact role that blends hands-on financial control with strategic leadership. You'll work closely with the VP of Finance and Legal, senior management, and cross-functional teams to ensure sound financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective planning that supports our long-term growth.



Please note this position is eligible to be based out of our Sherwood Park, Calgary, Saskatoon, or Guelph office.

What You'll Do:

Financial Leadership & Strategy

Partner with the VP of Finance and Legal to shape and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals. Deliver insightful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual). Ensure compliance with ASPE, internal policies, and audit standards. Manage general ledger activities and coordinate external audits.

Internal Controls & Governance

Design and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies. Uphold governance standards and risk management practices.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

Lead organization-wide budgeting and forecasting processes. Provide variance analysis and identify cost efficiencies and financial risks. Develop clear financial dashboards and performance reports.

Operational & Systems Leadership

Oversee financial systems (ERP, reporting tools) and ensure data integrity. Drive automation and process improvements across finance operations. Collaborate with IT and operations on system integration and optimization.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and professional growth.

Qualifications:

University degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance. CPA designation (CA, CMA, or equivalent) required. 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role. Proven track record in financial reporting, planning, and team development. Experience with ERP systems and financial process optimization.
