Reporting to the Chief Corporate Controller, the Controller will be responsible for all the accounting activities related to the manufacturing sites and distribution centers of the assigned territory. Alongside the finance team, the Controller will be the Master of Financial Accounting, cost analysis, inventory management, excel analysis and banking transactions.

A day in a life:

Your day begins with a presentation to the CEO regarding the monthly financial results, followed by a morning coffee with the IT Manager regarding the ERP implementation. You then take some time to think about how to create GL mapping for the new HRIS system. You take a break for lunch and recharge. Later in the afternoon you investigate a large inventory variance and set up a call with the director of purchasing and production. Your workday ends with a one on one with your assistant controller. Finally, you log off and head out for dinner and go-karting with the finance team!

In your role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure the timely production of the monthly and annual financial statements including detailed explanatory appendices;
• Conduct complex financial analysis and produce all required financial reports;
• Investigate variances in financial reporting by contacting relevant departments;
• File monthly Canadian GST/QST reporting with Revenu Quebec;
• Ensure rigorous management of cost control activities;
• Ensure the accuracy of inventory (quantity and prices);
• Balance the various ledger accounts with the assistant (inventory, AP, AR, loans, fixed assets);
• Produce and coordinate the budget process with each department;
• Establish, review and update internal controls & processes;
• Oversee annual external audit for the assigned Company within Techo-Bloc including review of Tax Filings with Government(s)
• Lead the analysis, configuration, testing, trouble shooting and implementation of special projects (ex. FS consolidation, new bonus programs, ERP implementation, etc.).
• Participate in the business case process for all new products and projects;

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in accounting;
• Accounting title;
• Experience in manufacturing environment;
• 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience;
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position;
• Experience in cost and financial control;
• Excellent command of integrated management systems (ERP) such as Microsoft AX or SAP;
• Excellent command of Office Suite and a master at Excel;
• Bilingualism orally and written is essential (English is necessary to serve our clients in the United States).;
