The potential for significant professional development includes becoming the right hand to the Director of Finance, a pragmatic and affable finance professional, as well as contributing significantly to upcoming system implementation and process automation projects.Position Responsibilities The role involves a spectrum of responsibilities, including but not limited to:Financial Management:

  • Manage the daily accounting operations, which encompass accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll activities.
  • Ensure timely execution and accuracy of financial statements while conducting month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain accurate records on the general ledger and financial reporting systems.
  • Prepare financial statements in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for consolidated financial statements of all entities under the firm.
Payroll Management:
  • Oversee payroll processes, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal laws at all times.
  • Provide resolutions for any arising payroll discrepancies while keeping comprehensive records of payroll transactions.
Accounts Receivable and Payable:
  • Supervise accounts receivable functions including invoicing, collections, and workflows.
  • Oversee accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate billing and timely payment to vendors.
Reception Oversight:
  • Ensure smooth operations of the reception area, managing reception staff, and ensuring customer inquiries are efficiently addressed.
Month-End & Year-End Close:
  • Oversee and execute month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive month-end and year-end financial statements and review reports for accuracy and completeness.
Tax & Compliance:
  • Provide support in the preparation and submission of corporate tax filings.
  • Ensure tax compliance with various laws and regulations while also providing guidance on tax matters.
Internal Controls:
  • Develop, enforce, and regularly update financial control measures to safeguard the organization\'s assets.
  • Perform systematic auditing and reviews ensuring adherence to compliance while enhancing operational efficiency.
Requirements:QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
  • CPA designation strongly desired
  • A bachelor\'s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant accounting and finance management experience within Canada (withing Industry or public accounting firm)
  • Strong preference for experience with construction industry or project-based accounting
  • Expertise in accounting software ERPs and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with process automation, system implementation and change management.
Personality Attributes We are seeking a practical, hands-on professional with strong management capabilities, a deep understanding of finance, rapport-building skills, and excellent communication.Compensation Details The remuneration package includes a base salary in the range of $100,000 - $140,000 based on experience, discretionary annual bonus, RRSP matching (eligible) and exceptional health benefits. The firm also provides three weeks of vacation per annum and educational support for CPA PD & Annual Dues.The position is based at the head office in Penticton BC, and the work schedule includes core working hours, with a full-time 40-hour per week, from 8 am to 5 pm PST.If you meet the above qualifications and are excited to join a dynamic, growth-oriented firm, we encourage you to apply today.
