Job Description

Our client, a well-respected and privately-owned construction company in the residential construction industry, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring that financial reporting is accurate and timely, and working with the management team to manage project financial margins, project budgets, contractor costs, equipment costs, procurement of services and parts, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and prioritize resources within projects

• Provide creative solutions to real-time challenges

• Prepare, review, and analyze consolidated financial information

• Track project and schedule payables

• Monitor daily cash balances

• Review and distribute weekly job cost reports

• Manage equipment costs, parts inventory, and regular financial statements

• Recommend benchmarks to measure company performance

• Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

• Work with external auditors for annual audit

• Work with external stakeholders, banks, contractors, and sub-contractors

• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

- Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Sage 300 experience preferred

- Understanding of Construction Accounting
