About the Role



LJ Welding Automation is seeking a Controller to lead our financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting operations across LJ Welding Automation and its subsidiaries. This role oversees the company's financial reporting function and provides critical financial support to operations. The Controller will also manage and mentor the accounting and business support team, while driving process improvements and supporting major initiatives such as our upcoming ERP implementation.

This is a key leadership role suited for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings strong technical expertise, and is committed to high-quality financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and internal/external financial reports Prepare and review accurate and timely monthly consolidated financial statements Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results with departmental teams Partner with operations to define, measure, analyze, and improve processes affecting customer quality and internal efficiency Lead the accounts receivable function, including payment methods, overdue accounts, and cash flow management Assist with manual data entry into accounting and manufacturing systems (invoice entry, order matching, report balancing) Support the year-end close process, including preparation of lead sheets, reports, and coordination with auditors Provide guidance on financial systems, recordkeeping, analysis, and reporting Support implementation of a major ERP system Prioritize all balance sheet account reviews to ensure deadlines and accuracy at month-end Complete ad hoc financial reporting and submissions to external parties Hire, mentor, train, and supervise accounting staff Identify and lead key process improvement initiatives

Desired Skills & Qualifications



University degree in Business/Accounting Professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, CGA, CMA, CMT) required 5-7 years of progressive corporate accounting and financial management experience post-designation Experience leading external audits Experience with intercompany and related-party transactions Strong financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting skills Manufacturing industry experience (asset) Strong understanding of federal, provincial, and local financial reporting requirements Familiarity with U.S. sales tax remittance

Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
