We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is critical in managing the company's financial health, including budgeting, account reconciliation, and analysis.
Duties
Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Oversee budgeting processes and provide insights on financial performance against budgets.
Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management and reporting.
Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales invoices, payroll entries, and bank/credit card reconciliations
Ensure all required invoices are posted to AGLC & AGLC reconciles with our books
Collecting on overdue Receivables - may include contacting customers
Monitor and update internal Receivable spreadsheet
Payroll & benefits (biweekly)
Posting inventory & COGS monthly
Filing Excise monthly (3 accounts) & ensuring payments are made by the deadline
Complete GST filings (annual with monthly payments)
Support budget tracking & forecasting
Weekly cash flow forecasting
Provide owners with timely updates on financial performance
Coordinate with external accountants for year-end reporting
Prepare and produce monthly and quarterly financial statements
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA certification is preferred.
Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar role within an accounting department.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including budgeting and account analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms is essential.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
