Job Description

Aplin, one of Canada\'s Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for the permanent position of Controller, located in Calgary, Alberta. The Controller is responsible for the day to day accounting & finance duties of the organization. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting team.

What you will do:

• Analyze company performance on an ongoing basis, and recommend and implement changes as needed.
• Assist in the budget process, and report variances.
• Responsible for the management and control of the Company\'s working capital and cash flow, including preparation of weekly cash flow.
• Coordinate with external auditors to complete the company\'s annual audit.
• Responsible for the management and control of the Company\'s working capital and cash flow.
• Arrange training programs for accounting staff as required.
• Responsible for arranging and administering adequate company benefit plans and Workers Compensation coverage.
• Inventory Management.
• Maintaining and implementing changes to internal controls and compliance for the organization.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting both internal and external.
• Oversee all tax requirements and remittances.
• Supervise the accounting department, receptionist, and IT support area.

What you need:

• CPA designation is a must have.
• MBA is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in a leadership role.
• Ability to lead a team through mentorship, training, and positivity.
• Attention to detail is a must.
