What
you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing: As the Controller, you will be reporting directly to the VP of Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in our industry, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
The successful candidate will be a highly analytical, organized, and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills who is looking to learn and grow in their career. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and seize opportunities to take ownership. You can think outside of the box, and you love to develop creative solutions to complex and challenging problems.

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
  • Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the accounting team in the preparation of monthly journal entries, accruals, GL closing, balance sheet, reconciliations, and other monthly/ quarterly/ yearly activities.
  • Ensure the reliability and effectiveness of internal controls over financial processes.
  • Establish (in coordination with VP of Finance) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Oversee the monthly/annual tax filing requirements and monthly remittances to the government in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.

Requirements:
  • Professional designation, such as CPA (certified public accountant)
  • Five or more years of progressive professional accounting experience
  • Exemplary history of financial project management

Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
  • Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
  • Experience at an accounting firm
  • Experience in managing payroll
  • Experience with streamlining accounting processes
