The team uses specialized and in-depth knowledge of contracting-related topics and Roche overall to offer and deliver solutions that manage business, legal, and compliance risks.The OpportunityAs a Contracts Manager on the Complex Collaborations team, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you can use your contract drafting and negotiation skills and general understanding of applicable laws, policies, and regulations, to deliver contract management and advisory activities. Using your specialized knowledge in the areas of pharma research and development contracting, you will ensure effective and efficient contracting that manages business, legal, and compliance risks to support internal stakeholders. Over time, you will have opportunities to learn new contracting areas and continue to expand your expertise.You will drive collaboration with business stakeholders, supporting their contracting needs by creating and providing tools, templates, playbooks, advice and counsel, and assistance with complex drafting and negotiating, enabling efficient and compliant contracting.Working within the contracting capability team, you will lead or be an active part of squads and networks, facilitating and leading complex discussions and initiatives, championing agile principles, interfacing with internal and external business partners and decision-makers.Who you areYou hold a university degree, with a legal degree preferable. You also have a minimum of 5-7 years related business experience of relevant contract management experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical contracting organization.Contracting domain knowledge or subject matter expert providing specialist input, advice, assistance, and in-depth know-how with complex scientific research contract drafting and negotiating activities.Contract drafter and negotiator using expertise to draft complex contractual provisions and demonstrate mastery with negotiation and influencing skills.Contracts "Best Practice" developer, visionary, and driver for developing, improving, and delivering templates, playbooks, and training to the business, and other stakeholders.The ability to communicate difficult concepts/ideas and effectively negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view, approach, or endorse/use proposal/solution.Experience in negotiating and/or managing a variety of agreements for clinical development, ideally in the following types of contracts- research collaboration agreements, data collaboration agreements, consortium agreements, investigator initiated agreements, mutual CDAs and the like.Demonstrated familiarity of intellectual property and licensing issues as they pertain to collaborative research agreements with academic partners.Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.Who we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
