Currently, we are looking for a Contracts Administrator to join our growing team. The role of this team member is best suited to someone who has experience negotiating contracts within the custom manufacturing or commercial construction industry, is action-oriented, hands on, and is comfortable working outside the box; our playgrounds don't fit within regular building code categories. The role:

  • in consultation with senior management and project managers, review and negotiate playground construction agreements, including requests for quotation, requests for proposals, confidentiality agreements, purchase orders, subcontracts, and contracts;
  • prepare, develop and/or amend contracts and commercial agreements in a timely manner;
  • establish strong working relationship and communicate effectively with playground concept designers, project managers and senior management to ensure service agreement terms are upheld;
  • assist project staff with interpretation and practical application of contracts;
  • assist in formation and administration of contracts with subcontractors and ensure that required and relevant terms and conditions are communicated and executed by subcontractors;
  • Oversee all invoicing and collections;
  • ensure accurate files for all contractual/commercial issues are maintained for each contract;
  • collaborate with internal and external legal, finance, and operational departments, including communicating and explaining legal and budgetary issues;
  • oversee capital projects for Earthscape Play and Earthscape Ontario, including on and off-site facilities and property management including cleaning, security, maintenance, parking, and grounds keeping;
  • coordinates tenant occupancy of capital buildings and properties.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in contract or project management in construction or manufacturing industry;
  • postsecondary education in business, engineering or or equivalent experience in a related field;
  • exceptional oral and written communication skills;
  • meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • knowledge of construction law, negotiating and drafting contracts;
  • understanding of construction planning, scheduling and management;
  • ability to grasp technical and commercial issues, understanding how they fit in contractual context, and develop appropriate written positions;
  • customer focused, and able to effectively manage priorities to remain flexible and adaptable in stressful situations;
  • strong command of MS Office (including Word, Excel) and Google Suite;
  • a growth mindset, and eagerness to learn from your mistakes;
  • a creative mind and willingness to think outside the box.

Salary Range: $75,000-$100,000 per year based on experience
