Oil and Gas Production Operator

Gran Tierra Canada Ltd. has an excellent opportunity for a full time contract operator in the Homeglen sour field. Working on a high paced, high energy work team, the primary responsibility of the successful person will be to effectively participate as a team member by providing safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance for our wells, gathering systems, and process facilities. The successful candidate will work an 8 on 6 off shift and must be willing to work extra hours and be on-call as required.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Manage and maintain day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines and processing facilities and report any deficiencies or operational issues to the production supervisor Daily production reporting utilizing Prodman Keep all wells and facilities in a safe, clean, and compliant condition and report all deficiencies to the production supervisor Complete minor maintenance activities: pump repairs, packing changes, orifice plate inspections, well/facility inspections, and other assorted tasks in an operator's scope Consistently meet and strive to exceed Gran Tierra expectations including Health & Safety Training; community relations; environment; regulatory; company policy; corporate values; and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Ensure that all scheduled maintenance is completed on time

Qualifications

Willing to train the Right Applicant Possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in an unsupervised work environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong computer skills (proficient in MS Office Suite) Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license - drivers abstract is required
Experience with sour pumping oilwells, water injection facilities, oil treaters and associated equipment would be an asset
