As a Contract Coordinator you will be responsible for the development and management of Parks and Open Spaces agreements. This position is the first point of contact relating to agreement development and management. Primary duties include:
• Facilitate and develop standard agreement templates such as: Enhanced Landscape Maintenance Agreements (LMA), Optional Amenity Agreements (OAAs); Endowment Agreements, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Snow and Ice Removal Agreements (SNIC) and Letter Agreements. This includes collecting relevant information, compiling and circulating agreement related information and often working with Law to amended templates as required.
• Consult with Law and Real Estate & Development Services to develop Parks non-standard agreements.
• Develop and prepare agreement schedules like standard Operating Procedures which are specific to each partnership and agreement.
• Serve as a liaison, which includes facilitating meetings to collaborate and gather information from all interested parties ensuring Parks interests are represented. This may require additional negotiation and collaboration with Planning, Law and Real Estate & Development Services to achieve the appropriate outcome.
• Perform other duties such as working with Finance to review and reconcile financial data, prepare and issue invoices, and participating in projects.
Qualifications • An undergraduate degree in Business, Communications, Law or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in legal agreement management, negotiation, and policy.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits and no charges or suspensions pending is required.
• Experience with Public One Stop Service Experience (POSSE), GIS Mapping, Land Use Bylaw 1P2007 and planning principles would be considered an asset.
• The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, a sound understanding of legal agreements, and experience in directing others.
• Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, strong attention to detail, be customer focused and have a proven ability to work independently while exercising sound judgement and decision making.
