RESPONSIBILITIES:



Reporting to the Manager, Culture, Engagement and Continuous Improvement, the People and Performance Improvement Coach is a trusted advisor to a defined client group of organizational leaders.The People & Performance Improvement Coach supports leader development and problem-solving, working collaboratively to foster a learning culture, optimize leadership impact and help leaders achieve strategic and operational goals. This includes working proactively to support hospital leaders with strategy deployment, change management, continuous performance improvement, fair accountability, diversity and inclusion, talent management, employee wellness and engagement, and other people-related goals and challenges.



Organizational Culture and Climates:




Consistently model and coach others to adopt practices aligned with the principles of a learning culture and climates of fair accountability, belonging and continuous improvement

Strategy Deployment, Continuous Performance Improvement and Change Management:




Foster the adoption of LEAN Management principles Promote unit-based priority-setting in alignment with QCH True North Goals and Strategic Directions Prove advise on monthly scorecard driver metric selection and target setting Promote, observe and coach the consistent application of Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) System practices following standard work Cultivate structured problem-solving thinking skills among leaders, physicians and front-line team members Provide developmental facilitation, as required, to design sustainable solutions that support the business in working better while also engaging and developing people Undertake people risk and impact assessments, change readiness assessments, and assist in developing strategies to enable successful change implementation and sustainment Coach project leaders in developing work plans, monitoring progress on deliverables, assessing project risks, developing communication and stakeholder engagement plans, preparing regular project reports for sponsors and measuring benefit realization

Leadership Development and People-Related Problem Solving




Observe and coach leaders to develop habits and behaviours aligned with the QCH Leadership Competency Framework to optimize leadership style and impact, foster inclusion and an appreciation of diverse perspectives and build a highly engaged and productive workforce In alignment with QCH Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Strategy and Talent Management Framework, provide leadership coaching and strategic advice to support leaders in finding and implementing solutions to their people-related challenges, including: employee recruitment and retention, diversity and inclusion, wellness and engagement, recognition, performance management, leadership recruitment and succession planning and team effectiveness Coach leaders in the application of fair accountability principles when incidents are investigated, conducting root cause analysis, designing risk mitigation strategies and making decisions
Support the implementation of Human Resource and People & Performance initiatives through communication, education and support to clients



REQUIREMENTS:




Education and Experience:





Bachelor's degree in Health or Business Administration, Leadership, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline. 5 to 8 years of experience in internal and/or external management consulting in the areas of process improvement, organizational effectiveness, and/or LEAN problem-solving. Relevant progressive work experience in these fields will also be considered an asset. Certification in LEAN / Six Sigma or other quality or process improvement methodology. Certification in Change Management, preferably PROSCI

Skills Requirements:





Ability to influence, build relationships, and co-create solutions that align with stakeholder needs and organizational priorities. Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills with a comprehensive approach to assessing organizational impacts and identifying improvement opportunities. Expertise in strategy deployment, cultural transformation, project management, and leading change in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently while effectively engaging with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:





Experience in a hospital setting.
