A great program needs great instructors, and the NAIT Medical Radiologic Technology Program is now recruiting for an instructor to join their team. Candidates for this position should be energetic leaders of students, have well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, be committed to student motivation and achievement, work independently within established policies, be dedicated to a service model, and work cooperatively as a team member.
In this program, classes will be delivered both online and in-person with most labs being held in-person on campus.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct virtual and in-person site visits with the students and clinical partner sites in both Alberta and potentially other provinces Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in the classroom, both virtual and in person and lab settings Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment Evaluate the learning process Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions Respond to student issues and provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, patients and colleagues Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities Some evening and/or weekend hours for lab instruction and other educational events may be required in certain semesters Monitor and evaluate student progress during clinical Provide preceptor support Other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities: Computer skills are essential Experience in delivery of adult education is desirable Valid Class 5 driver\'s license required for travel to site visits when required
Qualifications: Diploma in Medical Radiologic Technology from a recognized post-secondary institute Related Bachelor\'s degree (in health sciences, or science, preferred) and 2-5 years of recent, relevant clinical experience as a MRT Technologist CAMRT certification in MRT, ACMDTT registration in MRT required IV Certification considered an asset Immunizations\' status and police information checks, as required by the program, may be requested Annual certification in BLS for HCP may be required
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Instructor salary grid $52,174.40 - $90,761.60 annually (based on 29 hours per week). However, starting salary for new hires averages between $63,198.40 - $68,711.20 annually (based on 29 hours per week) based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification - Instructor).
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement
