POSITION SUMMARY:





THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST PROVIDES ADVANCED TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO MAINTENANCE AND PRODUCTION TEAMS WHILE LEADING CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (CI) INITIATIVES ACROSS THE COMPANY'S PACKAGING AND PLASTICS ASSETS. THIS ROLE IS HIGHLY HANDS-ON AND TECHNICALLY DRIVEN, FOCUSED ON IMPROVING EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY, OPTIMIZING MAINTENANCE PRACTICES, AND ENSURING CONSISTENT, HIGH-PERFORMANCE PRODUCTION ACROSS ALL PLANT LOCATIONS.



THIS POSITION REQUIRES A STRONG MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL BACKGROUND, WITH A STRONG PREFERENCE FOR DUAL-TICKETED MILLWRIGHT / ELECTRICIAN CANDIDATES. CANDIDATES WHO HOLD A CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION (COFQ) IN ONE TRADE MUST DEMONSTRATE SIGNIFICANT, HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN THE OTHER. THE ROLE REQUIRES REGULAR TRAVEL TO COMPANY PLANTS TO PROVIDE ON-SITE TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND CI LEADERSHIP.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

BUILD AND MAINTAIN DEEP TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE OF PACKAGING, PLASTICS, AND RELATED EQUIPMENT AT BOTH THE PLANT AND ENTERPRISE LEVEL. CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE, STANDARDIZE, AND ENFORCE PREVENTIVE AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS ACROSS ALL FACILITIES. DEVELOP, UPDATE, AND STANDARDIZE PM PLANS, WORK ORDERS, SOPS, AND BEST PRACTICES TO ENSURE CONSISTENT MAINTENANCE EXECUTION. IDENTIFY AND IMPLEMENT PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE AND CI INITIATIVES TO IMPROVE PART QUALITY, REDUCE DOWNTIME, AND EXTEND EQUIPMENT LIFE.


ON-SITE SUPPORT & TROUBLESHOOTING

TRAVEL REGULARLY TO PLANT LOCATIONS TO VALIDATE MACHINE CONFIGURATIONS AND MAINTENANCE PRACTICES AGAINST OEM RECOMMENDATIONS. PROVIDE HANDS-ON TECHNICAL SUPPORT AT UNDERPERFORMING OR START-UP SITES, INCLUDING EXTENDED ON-SITE STAYS WHEN REQUIRED. SUPPORT ANNUAL OVERHAULS THROUGH DIRECT INVOLVEMENT IN AUDITS, REBUILDS, TROUBLESHOOTING, AND TRAINING. ENFORCE SAFE WORK PRACTICES, PROPER TOOL USAGE, AND ADHERENCE TO COMPANY SAFETY POLICIES DURING MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES. PARTNER WITH PLANT TEAMS TO IMPLEMENT AND SUSTAIN COMPANY MAINTENANCE AND CI STANDARDS.


PERFORMANCE MONITORING & REPORTING

ESTABLISH AND MONITOR KPIS TO ASSESS EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE RELATIVE TO PURCHASE AGREEMENTS AND ACCEPTANCE TRIALS. PROVIDE CLEAR VISIBILITY TO MANAGEMENT ON CRITICAL SYSTEM RISKS, PERFORMANCE GAPS, AND IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES. FOLLOW UP WITH OEMS AND PLANT TEAMS TO ENSURE TIMELY CLOSURE OF ACTION ITEMS FROM ACCEPTANCE TRIALS AND AUDITS. ANALYZE PRODUCTION AND QUALITY DATA TO IDENTIFY CORRELATIONS BETWEEN EQUIPMENT CONDITION, SYSTEM HEALTH, AND PART DEFECTS.


VENDOR & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

WORK CLOSELY WITH OEMS, INTEGRATORS, AND INTERNAL PLANT TEAMS TO IMPROVE MACHINE UPTIME AND MAINTENANCE EFFECTIVENESS. PARTICIPATE IN CI AND TECHNICAL ESCALATION CALLS WITH VENDORS AND INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS. COLLABORATE CROSS-FUNCTIONALLY TO DEFINE PROJECT TIMELINES, MILESTONES, AND SUCCESS CRITERIA. EVALUATE NEW TECHNOLOGIES, UPGRADES, AND MODIFICATIONS, PROVIDING TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO SENIOR LEADERSHIP.


PROJECT SUPPORT & EXECUTION

CONDUCT TECHNICAL ASSESSMENTS AND ROI ANALYSES FOR CI PROJECTS AND CAPITAL INITIATIVES. SUPPORT EQUIPMENT REMOVALS, INSTALLATIONS, COMMISSIONING, AND TRAINING AS DIRECTED BY THE CI MANAGER. DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT SUSTAINABLE INSPECTION AND QUALITY VERIFICATION PROGRAMS FOR END-OF-LINE MATERIALS.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE



EDUCATION & TRADES CERTIFICATION

DIPLOMA OR DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING, OR A RELATED FIELD OR EQUIVALENT TECHNICAL/TRADES EXPERIENCE. STRONG PREFERENCE FOR DUAL-TICKETED MILLWRIGHT (433A) AND ELECTRICIAN (442A). CANDIDATES WITH A COFQ IN ONE TRADE MUST DEMONSTRATE STRONG, HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN THE OTHER DISCIPLINE.


EXPERIENCE

MINIMUM 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN MAINTENANCE, PRODUCTION SUPPORT, OR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT WITHIN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT. MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH KRONES PACKAGING EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING INSTALLATIONS, AUDITS, OVERHAULS, TROUBLESHOOTING, AND TRAINING. PROVEN EXPERIENCE WITH AUTOMATION AND CONTROL SYSTEMS, INCLUDING PLC TROUBLESHOOTING AND INTEGRATION WITHIN PRODUCTION LINES.


TECHNICAL SKILLS

STRONG WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS RELATED TO HIGH-SPEED PACKAGING EQUIPMENT. EXPERIENCE DESIGNING, IMPLEMENTING, AND SUSTAINING PREVENTIVE AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS. ABILITY TO DEVELOP KPIS AND ANALYZE EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE DATA. STRONG TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION AND REPORT-WRITING SKILLS (PROCEDURES, SUMMARIES, STANDARDS).


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

REDUCTION IN EQUIPMENT DOWNTIME AND MAINTENANCE-RELATED PRODUCTION LOSSES. IMPROVED EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE AGAINST ACCEPTANCE TRIAL BENCHMARKS. INCREASED COMPLIANCE WITH PREVENTIVE AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES. REDUCTION IN QUALITY DEFECTS LINKED TO EQUIPMENT CONDITION. SUCCESSFUL EXECUTION OF CI INITIATIVES AND DELIVERY OF PROJECT MILESTONES.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

PRIMARILY PLANT-BASED, WITH REGULAR TRAVEL BETWEEN FACILITIES. HIGHLY HANDS-ON ROLE INVOLVING DIRECT INTERACTION WITH PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT. FAST-PACED, RESULTS-DRIVEN ENVIRONMENT SUPPORTING CRITICAL MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $120,000 ANNUALLY, BASED ON APPLICABLE EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL DEPTH, AND TRADE CERTIFICATION LEVEL (INCLUDING DUAL-TICKET MILLWRIGHT / ELECTRICIAN STATUS).
