Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant to provide support in various capacities, primarily focusing on senior care. This role is essential for enhancing the quality of life for individuals in hospice care, assisted living, and home care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to helping others and be able to perform a range of tasks that contribute to the well-being of our clients.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance to seniors, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met. Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed. Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation. Help with housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment. Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to nursing staff or family members. Provide care for individuals with dementia and other cognitive impairments, ensuring their comfort and safety. Assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence.

Skills

Experience in hospice care or senior care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively. Familiarity with assisted living environments and home care practices. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families. Compassionate approach towards working with persons with disabilities. Basic cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic environment for clients. Ability to follow instructions from nurses or healthcare professionals effectively.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
