I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities




In this position, you will work with and empower integrated teams of staff and volunteers to deliver programs and services that change the lives of Canadians who are blind or living with partial sight. The

Content Creator - Technology

will work with the Team Lead, Technology and Next Generation to develop accessible, engaging content that highlights the use of assistive technologies such as Be My Eyes, Meta Glasses, Alexa Voice and others. This position will support the development and dissemination of educational and awareness training materials that advance digital literacy and awareness of technology tools that enhance independence for individuals who are blind or partially sighted.

II. Essential Functions:



You will explore and analyze a range of assistive technologies through hands-on use and real-life user scenarios You will develop engaging, accessible content--video demos, screen captures, and audio explainers--that promote awareness and increase user comfort with assistive tools You will ensure that all materials are created in accessible formats, with attention to clear narration, alt-text, subtitles, and audio description You will work within the CNIB brand and communications framework to produce digital content that is informative, high-quality, and consistent across platforms You will draft and maintain content planning documents, including platform strategy, messaging outlines, accessibility notes, and timelines You will gather feedback from team leads and revise content to ensure clarity, usability, and maximum engagement You will summarize key takeaways from the project, share insights on future directions, and connect with internal teams to explore future mentorship and development pathways

III. Qualifications



Knowledge and Skills



Demonstrated experience in digital content creation (audio, video, screen capture) Strong communication and storytelling skills, particularly with a focus on accessibility Excellent planning, time management, and coordination abilities An understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design Collaborative, positive approach to working with staff and volunteers Familiarity with non-profit communications or technology education considered an asset Proficiency in the use of assistive technologies is an asset

Experience and Education



Background in communications, media, education, marketing, or digital technology Prior experience in social impact or accessibility-related work is an asset Experience using accessible video editing software preferred Hands-on experience using and demonstrating assistive technology tools preferred

Hybrid work out of New Westminster office (2 office days)
