The ideal candidate combines creativity with strategic thinking, producing exceptional content that drives engagement while actively building and nurturing our online communities across social media platforms and spaces like Discord. You will also play a key role in shaping how our brands connect with consumers through modern storytelling -- from short-form social videos and behind-the-scenes content to authentic community conversations that bring our culture to life.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Develop and manage a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with each brand's objectives and voice;
Create engaging, high-quality multimedia content (text, images, videos, infographics, memes) tailored for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, and Discord;
Manage content calendars tied to product launches, campaigns, and marketing milestones;
Collaborate with marketing, product, and creative teams to deliver content that highlights our products, culture, and community;
Stay ahead of social and cultural trends, experimenting with storytelling formats such as Reels, TikTok, behind-the-scenes content, and series that deepen consumer connection.
Community Engagement and Growth
Actively monitor and engage with online communities, responding to comments, DMs, and questions promptly and in a brand-consistent manner;
Cultivate an interactive and positive community presence that drives loyalty and brand affinity;
Grow and foster our Discord community through events, conversations, and content launches;
Identify and collaborate with influencers, ambassadors, and strategic partners to expand reach.
Analytics and Optimization
Track, analyze, and report on social performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth, conversions);
Translate insights into actionable optimizations for future campaigns;
Provide regular reports to management highlighting successes, opportunities, and ROI.
Compliance and Brand Voice
Ensure all content and engagement activities comply with
Health Canada's cannabis marketing regulations
;
Maintain a responsible, ethical, and consistent brand voice across all channels while giving each brand its unique personality.
Qualifications
Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field;
3-5 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or community management (experience in CPG, cannabis, or other regulated industries preferred);
Strong understanding of social platforms, storytelling trends, and emerging content formats (Reels, TikTok, short-form videos, behind-the-scenes content);
Proven experience growing communities and executing impactful content strategies;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable creating on-camera content such as product demos, live streams, and social videos, as well as representing the brand at events;
Hands-on ability to produce and edit photos and videos while maintaining brand standards;
Proficiency with social media and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, Google Analytics);
Familiarity with design and editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, etc.);
Passion for cannabis culture and community;
Knowledge of
Health Canada's cannabis marketing regulations
(strong asset);
Experience with Discord or other online community platforms (asset);
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset;
Bilingual (English/French)

Skills
Proven experience in e-commerce content creation and digital marketing strategies.
Strong knowledge of SEO principles, keyword research, and content optimization techniques.
Proficiency in content management systems such as WordPress.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic web formatting skills.
Graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite for creating or editing visual assets.
Ability to analyze website data with Google Analytics to inform content decisions.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
Experience with email marketing platforms and campaign management tools is a plus.
