WHERE YOU COME IN We are looking for a Content Creation & Management Specialist to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada. Reporting to the Sr Manager of Influence & Engagement, the specialist is responsible for crafting engaging visual content in various formats that\xe2\x80\x99s tailored to different target audiences across multiple channels, aligning story arc messaging from our Brand Case for Support. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing the organization\'s brand identity and effectively communicating our message through compelling visuals and storytelling. Additionally, the Content Specialist will support the establishment and curation of a comprehensive content library, ensuring easy access and use for all teams within the organization.
This role can be based out of any Make-A-Wish Canada office and is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategic Visual Content Development \xe2\x80\x93 Approx. 60% of time:
Develop storyboards and oversee the filming and editing of video and still content to showcase the transformative impact of wishes. Content may include wish children, wish families, volunteers, Board members, medical teams, local events, wish-granting activities, etc., aimed at enhancing awareness for key moments such as the Impact Report, anniversaries and milestone occasions, etc.
Customize content in terms of format and length to suit different platforms, including social media, websites, email campaigns, development materials, and media relations. Tailor storytelling and tone to resonate with diverse target audiences, such as mass audiences, major donors, legacy donors, fundraisers, Board members, and volunteers.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to outline and map content needs and objectives effectively. Coordinate efforts to enhance synergy and alignment across various communication channels.
Develop detailed briefs and comprehensive guidelines for internal teams to ensure thorough content capturing. Additionally, organize bi-annual upskilling sessions tailored to enhance teams\' content collection abilities.
Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices in visual storytelling, strategically adapting our content approach for ongoing improvement. Incorporate innovative techniques and insights to maintain relevance and engagement with target audiences.
Strategic Content Management and Coordination \xe2\x80\x93 Approx. 40% of time:
Establish and maintain a centralized content library accessible to all departments within the organization. This ensures streamlined collaboration and resource sharing.
Organize content systematically by type, year, target audience demographics, and geographical location for enhanced discoverability and relevance.
Implement a tagging system for easy content retrieval and categorization, optimizing workflow productivity.
Explore and identify new content management tools to improve content organization.

WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor\'s degree in Communications, Marketing, Visual Arts, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2-5 years of proven experience in content management and content creation /production/photography, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative work.
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, capable of engaging a diverse audience and aligning with brand voice and messaging.
Understanding of SEO principles and best practices is an asset.
Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively and cross-functionally in a team environment.
Excellent understanding of social media platforms and their respective content requirements.
Ability to travel frequently within Canada.
Ability to communicate both written and orally in English; French is an asset.
A clear Criminal Background Check will be required.
YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
Hybrid working environment: 2 days in-office per week, 3 days remote, with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours.
Occasional day/overnight travel (every 6 weeks or so) to attend fundraising events, wish reveals, and hospital visits to capture content.
Physical/Mental Effort
Potential emotional situations in interactions with wish recipients and families facing life threatening conditions or illnesses, in palliative care, and end-of-life stages.
Extended periods of standing when attending in-person events.
