COMPANY DESCRIPTION Journeys Across Canada is a full-service receptive tour operator for Canada, Alaska and the northern USA. We organise and operate customised group tours as well as packages and accommodation for individual travellers (FIT). Our clients are international tour operators sending tourist clients to Canada from overseas, in particular Europe, Scandinavia, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. The ORCA Booking System features over 700 hotels across Canada and Alaska as well as tours, activities and transfers. The system provides instant confirmation of hotel reservations to authorised travel trade operators allowing them to dynamically package tours online. Our head office is located in Vancouver. JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a full time permanent position working in the fast paced environment of FIT Online reservations. Highly organized, enthusiastic and detail oriented team player needed to succeed in this role. Excellent IT skills are needed to work with and manage data in the booking system. Attention to detail is critical. Responsibilities:
  • Data set up in our in house reservation system
  • Loading and maintaining supplier rate information for our in house and on line ORCA booking systems.
  • Sourcing and loading/updating content e.g. images in Magnolia Content Management System for optimal display in our ORCA online booking system.
  • Use of Excel spreadsheets to track and prioritise data loading and management.
  • Support the FIT reservations team for all data and content needs.
  • Assist the Online Supervisor in resolving system issues.
  • Assisting the Online Supervisor with system testing for new software releases.
  • Producing documentation for traveling clients.

Job Requirements/Qualifications: Requirements:
  • Previous experience in content administration or data entry
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • A highly detail orientated approach to work
  • Knowledge of North American geography and tourism products is preferred
  • Organizational ability
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Experience in working with a travel reservation system would be an advantage
  • Must be either Canadian Resident or have a valid work permit for Canada.

  • Salary/Wage: Dependent upon experience
