Job Brief



"Personalized Prescribing is a Canadian pharmacogenomics testing supplier specializing in psychotropic medication; our lab is situated in Richmond Hill Ontario, and our pharmacists consult and interpret our patient's genetic profiles for most appropriate antidepressants."

We are seeking a licensed consulting pharmacist for a 1(one) year contract that will consult with our patients on pharmacogenetics. The licensed pharmacists must be bilingual and

will be working from home

, ideally based in Ontario or Quebec.

Training will be provided to the successful candidate, by our our senior consulting pharmacist on all aspects of job functions and responsibilites.

Responsibilities



As a member of the Personalized Prescribing Inc. (P3) team you will act as a Consulting Pharmacist, leveraging your knowledge, skills and experience to provide support to PPI end user clients and Business vendors. Your core responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Must be able to confidently counsel and support patients from a pharmacology and a pharmacogenetic perspective. Should be able to work with a pharmacogenetic testing company and use pharmacogenetic tests as an additional tool while consulting with patients. Will be required to collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review and evaluate patient effectiveness. Solicit information from patients/clients regarding past and current medication to prevent drug interactions. Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and liaise with patients/clients to determine and prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions. Educate and counsel clients/patients on medication use, side effects and perform overall health management consulting. Must be knowledgeable on relevant provincial and federal laws/regulations related to the practice of pharmacy. In collaboration with an administrative assistant, perform a variety of administrative/clerical record keeping, documentation and other related general functions as needed. Must be able to maintain the strict confidentiality of patient/client information. Contribute to various company sponsored seminars, conventions, and conferences as required - prepare and deliver general presentations on related topics for business clients as needed. Attend industry seminars, conferences and events as needed to enhance knowledge and learn new industry methodology and technology.

Skills & Experience Required



Must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited and recognized industry program. Must be licensed to practice in Ontario or Quebec (Licensed by OCP, or OPQ) Must be a member in good standing of The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA). Must be willing to learn new topics, processes and skillsets as needed. Proficient at analysis / problem assessment and Innovative with appropriate solutions. Communication, Interpersonal and Customer Service skills - You have verbal and written communication skills to clearly and concisely respond to in-person and electronic inquiries from the public. You demonstrate interpersonal and listening skills to interact with the public, to collaborate in a team driven environment to ensure that operational requirements are being met and support team members/clients. You demonstrate excellent judgement and strong problem-solving skills, with a strong track record in ensuring attention to detail, deadline adherence and multi-tasking ability. You demonstrate professionalism, discretion, integrity and tact. You take pride in the efficient functioning of a team/department. Demonstrates individual leadership skills - demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and to assess situations and problems efficiently and effectively Must display dedication to role responsibility - Exemplary attendance record with minimal interruptions or absenteeism. Software Skills - You can use office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, electronic mail and electronic/ online resources to produce reports, forms and letters. A basic knowledge and understanding of pharmacogenetics, its concept principles and applications is an asset, Some experience in a pharmaceutical setting a definite asset.

Bilingual (French/English) language capability a definite asset for this role.


Compensation



The pharmacist will be paid on a per patient basis, at the rate of $50 per patient consulted with. We estimate about 10-15 hours per week, working with between 5 - 15 patients per week.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
