Job description

Salary range: $60,000 to $68,000 plus benefits pkg

Permanent Full-time; 40 hours/week

Flexibility: Work from home in Ottawa/Pikwakanagan area, or client location.

The Intermediate-level Consultant reports directly to the President with a career progression toward leading I7\'s Transaction Advisory Services. This role is designed to evolve and carve out a unique career path suited to the individual occupying it. You will jump right in and gain more experience across multiple projects in an applied learning environment, including infrastructure project development, real property, alternative service delivery, and Indigenous engagement. The Senior Consultant will manage, and lead projects, conduct strategic and project-based research, draft reports, and provide strategic advice to the President. This role requires bravery to take on complex and exciting projects in a manner that is aligned with Innovation Seven\'s core values.

Consultant responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Managing, leading and overseeing projects
  • Providing strategic advice and work alongside the President
  • Supporting the project-based activities of Transaction Advisory Services for Real Property
  • Conducting project-based and strategic research and drafting research summaries
  • Supporting and leading the development of proposals in response to government and private sector opportunities
  • Managing a variety of files concurrently
  • Undertaking business development activities
  • Drafting reports and research studies
  • Attending client meetings, and developing close working relationships with private sector partners
  • Participating in presentations and workshops with clients and project teams
Requirements

Consultant qualifications and attributes include:
  • Must have a University undergraduate degree (a post-graduate degree is an asset)
  • 4 to 10 years of relevant work experience (Intermediate or Senior level will be based on relevant experience)
  • Have or be able to qualify for Government Security Clearance at the Secret level within 6 months of hire
  • Possession of CAPM or PMP is a strong asset
  • Must attain CAPM within 6 months of hire
  • Be available for up to 15% of travel
  • Must have (3) positive professional reference checks
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (English is mandatory, French is an asset)
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving and unstructured environment
  • Ability to manage own work and projects effectively
  • Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines
  • Motivated to self-teach and learn new topics
  • Experience in one or more of the following: major infrastructure project management or development (
$25 million project value); Indigenous affairs/project consultancy; public-private partnerships/alternative financing and procurement or project finance * Experience in business development, proposal writing, or responding to a government request for proposals is an asset
  • Experience working with or for the provincial or federal government is an asset
  • Excellent time-management and computer skills including Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word and Excel
  • Must be trustworthy, dependable, work independently and with a team
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit
