Job Summary:
TCI has an opening for a Consultant, Advanced Business Development. The purpose of the role is to Develop TCI’s strategy in the areas of advanced technology and energy solutions, with a focus on both product and infrastructure. Working closely with various departments within TCI and with business partners, the chosen candidate will adapt future business models and processes to evolving advanced technology and energy opportunities. Through collaboration with other Toyota distributers and by analysing trends and best practices in the retail and automotive industry, identify the mid- to long-term direction of energy and advanced technology for TCI. This role will report to the Manager, Advanced Business Development – Energy portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Identify future trends in the automotive energy space and assess their applicability to TCI and/or its dealers.

  • Develop short/mid/long term strategies/proposals for TCI’s energy portfolio

  • Build, foster and scale Toyota’s strategic partnerships to deliver viable Canadian solutions

  • Investigate advanced business development initiatives which will enable TCI to remain competitive in the market as technologies change which will include Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles and commercial fuel cell solutions

  • Assist with initiatives required to meet Zero Emission Vehicle compliance with minimal budget impact by collaborating with cross-departmental associates to assure a coordinated effort and successful result

  • Assist with public charging functionality as part of TCI’s electrification strategy

  • Develop, establish and maintain impactful relationships with key external and cross-functional stakeholders from executives to engineers

  • Ensure that budget resources are deployed effectively and in accordance with corporate policies.

  • Be the ‘go-to’ person for suppliers and partners’ day-to-day needs, define the long-term vision for the partnership and continuously track and enhance its success

  • Develop road map of project and coordinate project deliverables.

  • Report on strategic insights that can be leveraged across the team and the entire organization

  • Provide updates to Management and Executives as required

  • Perform tasks within the SAP system as required

What You Bring:

  • University degree in business, marketing or relevant discipline

  • 5+ years automotive experience.

  • Automotive corporate or field experience including sales, marketing, or fixed operations disciplines

  • Strong expertise in strategic planning

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Self-starter and motivated to work with support group

  • Ability to work independently
