Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Laboratory Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various tests and analyses on construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Your expertise will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of construction projects.

Duties

Perform laboratory tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. Prepare samples for testing and ensure proper documentation of results. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports for project managers and engineers. Collaborate with field personnel to collect samples and provide technical support as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment. Assist in the development of new testing procedures and methodologies.

Requirements

A degree in civil engineering, construction technology, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly within the construction industry, is advantageous. Strong understanding of material testing standards (ASTM, AASHTO) is a plus. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as concrete testers, soil compaction devices, and other relevant tools. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate test results. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical personnel.

Pay: $42.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
