Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Assistant to support our construction team in various on-site tasks. This role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the construction industry, working alongside skilled professionals on diverse projects. The Construction Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring project efficiency, safety, and quality standards are maintained throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including unloading materials and setting up equipment. Support skilled tradespeople by providing necessary tools and materials as needed. Help with site cleanup and organization to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Perform basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials under supervision. Operate hand tools and light machinery as trained and instructed by supervisors. Support the team in loading and transporting materials around the site. Document work progress and report any issues or hazards to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certifications in construction or trades is a plus. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately. Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team environment. Prior experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not required. Valid driver's license is advantageous for transporting materials or equipment as needed.
