Position Summary:
Reporting to the Site Supervisor/ Superintendent, the Residential Construction Technician will be responsible for a wide array of duties for new construction and remodelling projects under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and/or Site Superintendent. This individual will be familiar with construction industry safety standards and be able to work under minimal supervision. The Residential Construction Technician will follow the Supervisor's direction closely and may be available to act as an assistant to the Site Supervisor.

Job Duties:
Wood framing: including but not limited to back framing, safety barricades, doors R/O adjustments, stair/landing framing, and general carpentry work, as assigned.
Maintain site signage.
Maintain site appearance, including but not limited to debris removal, weed control, and basic landscaping maintenance.
Assist the Site Supervisor with inspections and or trade coordination as required.
General home construction tune-up work, as assigned.
Ensure Job sites have proper egress with secure temporary access ramps and walkways to the street front are clear of debris and hazards.
Accept site deliveries and assist with loading and off-loading materials.
Keep inventory of required general construction supplies. Source/ purchase materials as required.
General labour, including some heavy lifting.
Maintain site appearance, including but not limited to debris removal, weed control, and basic landscaping maintenance.
Performing other related duties, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required, and the work does not exceed your own limitations.
Understanding and complying with all policies and procedures.
Work with team to get jobs done safety and efficiently to meet timelines.
Maintaining a clean working area free from debris between tasks and at end of day.
Ensure job-site safety is maintained.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Requirements:
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in residential and/or commercial construction
Valid Alberta Driver's Licence
Ability to operate equipment (skid steer and basic construction power tools as required)
Knowledge of First Aid and CPR an asset.
Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.
Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do certain tasks.
Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
Work Conditions:
44 hours per week; Monday - Friday; 7-4:30pm (subject to change)
Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
Ability to work alone when required.
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.
Ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 60 feet.
May be exposed to loud noise.
Excellent stamina is required.
Works outdoors in all-weather conditions.
Hazards associated with the construction industry.
