Position Overview
HKC Construction is seeking an experienced
Site Supervisor
to lead a pharmacy retrofit in an active retail environment. The role requires hands-on coordination of interior fit-out scopes (demolition, partitions, finishes, millwork/fixtures, and MEP trades) with a focus on safety, schedule, and quality.
Responsibilities
Use
SiteDocs
for health and safety inspections and daily H&S logs.
Use Connect Team for logging hours
Supervise day-to-day site operations; maintain schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Coordinate and direct subcontractors (demo, carpentry, drywall/ceilings, millwork, electrical, mechanical, sprinklers, flooring, painting, security/data).
Plan and sequence work to limit disruption to store operations; manage after-hours work as required.
Implement dust, noise, and access controls; maintain clean, safe work areas.
Complete daily PSI and weekly inspections; file photos and documentation each day.
Communicate daily with the Project Coordinator (PC) on progress, next steps, and risks.
Advise the PC in advance of required inspections and testing (e.g., life-safety, MEP rough-in/final, millwork install checks, balancing/commissioning).
Verify installation of pharmacy-specific requirements (e.g., secure storage areas, counters/fixtures, power/data for equipment) per drawings and specs.
Liaise with landlord representatives, client, consultants, and inspectors.
Maintain accurate site documents: drawings, RFIs, permits, inspections, and daily reports.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Site Supervisor on
interior retrofit/tenant fit-out
projects in commercial or retail environments.
Strong coordination of
MEP trades
and millwork/fixture installation.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Clear communication and crew leadership.
Experience working in
occupied/operational retail
settings (pharmacy or grocery/retail fit-out experience is an asset).
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Commitment to a safe work environment and strong housekeeping.

Fixed-term, for the duration of the pharmacy retrofit (estimated
8-12 weeks
