Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Construction Superintendent -Low- Rise Development (Muskoka)
to oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. As a superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all on-site activities, ensuring safety compliance, managing subcontractors, and maintaining project schedules. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction activities to meet project deadlines.
Monitor progress, track milestones, and adjust schedules as needed.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
Ensure work is performed efficiently, safely, and according to specifications.
Provide clear instructions and guidance to team members.
Quality Control and Safety:
Implement quality control measures to maintain construction standards.
Enforce safety protocols and address any safety concerns promptly.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential issues.
Budget and Cost Management:
Monitor project costs, materials, and labor expenses.
Work closely with the project manager to stay within budget.
Communication:
Maintain open communication with all stakeholders.
Address any project-related issues or conflicts.
Prepare progress reports and update project status.
Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolve construction-related challenges.
Make decisions that align with project goals and timelines.
Qualifications
Must reside in or near Muskoka, ON, or be willing to relocate.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a construction superintendent or similar role.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
OHSA certification, First Aid/CPR training (preferred).
Must have a valid drivers license and own transportation.
