Broken Stones Development Inc. is seeking a Construction Site Superintendent to manage commercial building projects as part of our fast-paced construction management team. This is an exciting growth opportunity that will expose you to high-end and complex projects in Calgary and beyond.

Role Overview:



This position is for a schedule-driven site superintendent who will oversee construction projects and drive results to meet or beat schedule requirements. The site superintendent will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on-site, including being responsible for site organization and ensuring compliance with all site safety regulations. The site superintendent will ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are always available on-site as scheduled. Also, they will liaise with required inspection authorities regarding approvals and manage the project timelines. This is a site-based position and requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:



Ensure construction occurs in compliance with contract documents and permit conditions.

Plan, schedule, organize, supervise, and direct, day-day activities on project sites while tracking compliance to schedule and budget targets.

Prepare and maintain 4-8 week look ahead detailed schedules.

Maintain a safe and clean site providing consideration for the public, neighbors, and the professional image of the company.

Prepare RFIs and notify the project management team of issues or inconsistencies within contract documents.

Maintaining and tracking of as-built conditions or variations to site conditions that may impact the contract.

Organize and conduct daily/weekly progress and safety meetings with trade representatives.

Establishes quantities, prepares orders, and tracks delivery for self-performed scopes including carpentry and concrete work.

Works with the supervisory project team, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve construction issues.

Manages the work of all subcontractors and personnel on-site. Responsible for initial quality review of work performed.

Coordinates the work of all subcontractors and works to identify conflicts in the contract documents in advance to keep the project on schedule.

Coordinates and oversees regulatory inspections satisfying occupancy requirements.

Responsible for all temporary protection during the construction process

Correction of all deficiencies and warranty requirements

Schedule: Weekends as needed.

Job Qualifications:



Journeyman/Red Seal Trade Certificate with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant construction experience Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans & contract requirements Maintain a clean and safe job site Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders (i.e., clients, trades, consultants) Knowledge of local and provincial building regulations/codes, ordinances, and legislation including OH&S Computer literate including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook Chair project and site meetings Safety training - WHIMS, Fall Arrest, First Aid Certificate, CSTS Valid driver's license
