About the Role




We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Site Manager to oversee the construction of a multibillion-dollar advanced battery materials manufacturing facility in Canada. This senior leadership position will be responsible for managing the overall construction site, including internal project team and the general contractor(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong executive presence and leadership capability, with the ability to dive into details in EHS, engineering, procurement, quality, construction, and workforce related issues.

Key Responsibilities





Manage the overall construction site, ensuring compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards. Oversee quality control, cost management, and schedule adherence. Coordinate and supervise construction activities, including site materials management, commissioning, and startup. Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Lead and manage the general contractor(s) and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Address and resolve any construction-related issues that may arise, ensuring timely and effective solutions. Ensure deep understanding of construction sequence, civil, structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, piping) works, and process equipment integration and installation. Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, fostering a culture of safety first, excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications





Minimum 20 years of construction experience ideally with O&G (Oil & Gas), chemical, or industrial projects experience. Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in advanced battery materials or related industries. Large capex project experience is a must (projects over $500 million). Strong executive presence and leadership capability, with the ability to engage with senior management and stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of engineering, procurement, quality, and construction processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
