We are looking to hire a Construction Safety Office/Site Coordinator to be a part of our Installation & Service team. The Construction Safety Officer/Site Coordinator is responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. The primary objective of this role is to always ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. Additionally, this role is also responsible to facilitate the day-to-day administrative activities and functions at the site.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Visiting work sites to ensure all sites are following occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines, have proper equipment & a first aid person. Plan and implement OHS policies and programs. Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics. Prepare educational seminars and webinars. Review existing policies and procedures. Set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety orientation. Conduct risk assessment at work sites Enforce preventative measures at work sites. Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions. Adhere to all the rules and regulations & ensure all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations. Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine cause. Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could jeopardize employees' safety. Assists with onboarding of new employees. Prepare biweekly hourly report and ensure that employees are using their timesheets properly and are properly tracking their hours.

Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Construction, Occupation Health & Safety, or related field 5 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices & experience of drafting policies and procedures for health and safety Ability to deal with sensitive or difficult situations and maintain confidentiality Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Thorough understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights, WorkSafe BC regulations & other occupational health and safety legislations Proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint Works with a sense of urgency, is well organized and capable of meeting deadlines Willing to travel to work sites Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics Working knowledge of safety management information system
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
