We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Safety Manager to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that all construction activities are conducted safely and in compliance with industry regulations. The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe working environment for all employees on-site. This role consists of both office-related duties, and on site tasks.
Responsibilities
Review current safety programs tailored to construction activities and update as necessary.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety protocols are integrated into daily operations.
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.
Stay current with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations related to construction practices.
Utilize construction management software to track safety metrics and report on performance.
Perform COR audit needs.
Experience
COR Certification and previous experience working in COR-certified companies.
Bachelor's degree or diploma in occupational health and safety or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a safety coordinator/manager in the construction industry or a similar role.
Valid Class 5 License and clean drivers abstract.
Train the Trainer Certification considered an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct training sessions and presentations effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Safety Management Software.
NCSO Designation considered an asset
Other certifications: Excavation and trenching, Flag Person, Traffic control considered an asset.
Previous experience in Site Docs considered an asset.
