The Role



The selected candidate is expected to deliver experienced project management supervision over assigned client projects, provide excellent client service and team management, and contribute to the growth of the company. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President & General Manager, the Construction Project Manager is the epitome of project management, communication and professionalism. The right candidate successfully achieves all project deliverables through the life cycle of a project while creating a positive and seamless experience for our clients, partners and team members.

This position will work closely with the executive team and manage the construction project team both on site and at the office. This person must be exceptionally organized, detail oriented and take initiative in moving actions forward. They should also thrive in a fast paced, team oriented, entrepreneurial environment and be able to expertly complete multiple assignments and maneuver through changing priorities effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual who operates with the utmost integrity and intentionality in everything they do.

Key Responsibilities



The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Providing full comprehensive management of projects throughout the life cycle of a project ranging from $5M- $50M Organizing, leading and managing site staff, multidisciplinary project consultant teams and trade partners Assisting with coordination of project design and constructability Managing project schedules, tracking project advancement and monitoring key deadlines Managing project financials including budgeting, billing, project costs, and delivering estimated margin on a monthly basis or as requested Developing and updating project proformas Running Request For Proposal (RFP) project bid processes Leading project team meetings to ensure budget, schedule and plans are being met Liaising with project team stakeholders - client representatives, consultants, trade partners and vendors Preparing, reviewing and providing recommendations on contracts or specifications of work agreements Leading project occupational health and safety Prepare documentation including scopes of work, contracts, purchase orders, reports and budgets Working with on site staff team to resolve technical and constructability issues, identifying cost savings and streamlining field methodologies Preparing meeting materials and organizing/filing pertinent project files Working closely with accounting, legal and insurance divisions on project related matters Writing letters, reports and correspondence

Skills & Experience



Has a minimum of 2 years' of work experience with progressive responsibility in construction project management Has demonstrated experience in the management of earthworks, civil infrastructure, and wood frame residential projects Possesses a post-secondary degree in construction project management or engineering. Certification and/or registration considered a definite asset Possesses advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills with proficiency in Excel Experience with Microsoft Project and Procore an asset Has experience in reviewing and understanding engineering and architectural drawings/plans Has a strong understanding of project financials Has a proven ability to review and understand contracts Possesses knowledge of real estate property legal principles Demonstrates strong communication skills -- both written and verbal -- handling every interaction with respect and professionalism Is a people person and team player who thrives on collaboration and building relationships Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to exercise good judgment Has exemplary organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Exhibits extraordinary time management skills, functioning with a strong understanding of task precedence, anticipating needs and streamlining processes Is a champion of health and safety Embodies flexibility and composure to accommodate last minute changes and unplanned requests as they arise Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach Has excellent negotiation skills and established results Operates with a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy Possesses a keen interest in construction Available for business travel

$80,000 - $95,000
