Job Summary:



We are seeking an experienced and results-driven

Project Manager

to lead and support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from initiation through to completion. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity, communicate effectively with stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure all deliverables meet quality, budget, and scheduling targets.

Key Responsibilities: Project Planning, Execution, and Control



Lead and support multiple concurrent construction projects ranging from low to high complexity. Develop and manage comprehensive project plans including scopes, schedules, and budgets. Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders. Facilitate effective problem-solving and decision-making processes within project teams. Monitor and control change management, ensuring clear communication of scope or schedule impacts. Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks and issues throughout the project life cycle. Use project management methodologies and tools to monitor progress and ensure on-time delivery. Ensure all construction activities align with internal standards and external compliance requirements.

Construction Management



Oversee all phases of construction, including project delivery through methods such as Lump Sum Bid, Design-Build, Construction Management, and Project Management. Review project plans, specifications, and estimates to assess constructability, potential cost savings, and challenges. Prepare scopes of work and contracts for sub-trades, run bid reviews, award contracts, and coordinate start-up meetings. Collaborate with the site superintendent to manage construction schedules and site operations. Lead and participate in weekly or bi-weekly construction and sub-trade meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes. Review site progress, assist with sequencing, and resolve constructability issues. Manage sub-trade change requests and owner-directed changes; prepare post-cost evaluations and issue change orders. Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs, and prepare monthly cost forecasts and progress draws. Ensure site QA/QC programs, safety protocols, and occupancy requirements are met. Oversee project close-out including documentation, as-built drawings, manuals, and final reports.

People Management and Leadership



Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Support and lead project staff, including consultants and subcontractors, to maximize performance and motivation. Evaluate and recognize team contributions and project milestones throughout the project life cycle. Manage competing resource demands and help resolve team or project-related conflicts.

Relationship Management



Foster positive and productive relationships with owners, consultants, sub-trades, and business partners. Maintain open, transparent communication and develop synergy between diverse stakeholder groups.

Technology and Industry Knowledge



Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project management best practices and industry trends. Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Adobe; experience with construction management software is an asset.

Qualifications:



Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an asset. Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in construction project management. Demonstrated experience managing multiple mid-to-large scale construction projects. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of applicable building codes, contract law, and construction methods. Experience with public and private sector projects considered an asset.
