Axis Vac is a growing, turn-key utility construction company in Saskatchewan, providing services such as horizontal directional drilling (HDD), hydrovac, excavating, trenching, shallow utility and power line construction and more across the telecommunications, utility, pipeline, civil and heavy industrial sectors. We are seeking an energetic and self motivated Project Coordinator with experience in managing telecom and utility projects including power line construction from take-off to close out stages. This is a full time, salaried position with benefits and incentives. This role will be a combination of office and field time depending on project size and scope.
Responsibilities
:
Obtain and track permits and locates for each project, preparing job packages for the site supervisors
Prepare estimates, budgets, and cost proposals including change orders
Attend client meetings to determine project requirements and maintain communication throughout the project
Oversee financial aspects of project including forecast, billing, and cost tracking
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet clients expectations
Collaborate with management and site supervision teams
Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, equipment, inventory, billable hours, and subcontractor expenses.
Manage project changes according to company policy
Monitor project performance through reviews, meetings, site inspections and reporting
Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability
Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally
Conduct regular project reporting regarding safety, profitability, and timelines
Promote a safe work environment and assist in developing/implementing procedures and policies
Manage trade contractor meetings, RFQ's, and invoices.
Qualifications
:
Experience submitting locates and interpreting contracts/design drawings
Proven experience in estimating and managing projects
Knowledge of construction terms, scheduling, planning concepts, engineered drawings, contracts, change management, and document control
PMP or similar considered an asset
FTTH (Fiber to the Home) experience preferred
Post secondary education in construction management, business admin, engineering or related field experience is preferred
Experience in project coordination, preferably in utility construction or telecommunications
Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills considered an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with project management software also considered an asset.
Organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in resource and time management
Experience in shallow utility installation, telecommunications, OSP construction, directional drilling, and fiber splicing and testing is all a plus
Pay Wage Range
:
$60,000.00 to $80,000.00 Per Year Depending on Qualifications
