Located in the bilingual Town of Falher in Northern Alberta, THIBAULT CONTRACTING LTD (TCL) brings authentic service to every customer, providing excavation, water and sewer services to the Smoky River Region and surrounding districts.

Thibault Contracting Ltd is hiring a Construction Project and Operation Manager. Reporting to the Owner, the successful candidate will oversee and direct all operations of the company. TCL is looking for an individual who will continue to grow and expand the company, is enthusiastic with a positive attitude, who will match our goals of building careers, supporting our team and making a lasting impact.

Responsibilities

- The Construction Project and Operation Manager will oversee and direct all operations of the company

- Manage resources (manpower, equipment and materials) on projects from beginning to end with attention to budgetary limitations

- Estimating daily occurring jobs

- Estimating both Lump Sum & Unit Rate Projects

- Be in contact with customers and follow up

- Resolve issues as they arise with internal personnel and external clients while maintaining positive working relationships

- Prepare progress reports, documentation and manage project communications

- Facilitate site meetings and inspections as required

- Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and municipal representatives to ensure project requirements are met

- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and resource plans

- Field work (on-site) when required

- Overall supervision when Owner is away

Skills

- Post-Secondary education with a degree in construction management, civil or structural engineering is an asset

- 10+ years with direct experience working with Earthworks & Underground Utilities

- Experience operating equipment

- Experience in temporary shutdown & emergency water and/or sewer situations

- Ability to work within tight deadlines and ensure work prioritization to achieve them

- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, both verbal and written with superior interpersonal, relationship and organizational management skills

- Must be approachable and capable of working effectively with an open-door policy

- Possess a demonstrated ability to lead and direct projects, analyze issues, and bring innovative solutions to achieving work plan objectives

- Must be people oriented with an ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and clients

- Proficient with software such as HCSS Suite, Bluebeam, Agtek, Spectrum, Microsoft Project, Adobe, and all Microsoft Office programs

- Valid Driver's License required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
