About the Role



We're looking for a

hands-on Construction Lead Hand

to join our construction team. The Lead Hand plays a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who leads by example, works alongside their crew, and maintains a strong focus on workplace safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and work alongside the site crew on day-to-day construction activities. Organize and prioritize tasks to meet project schedules and quality standards. Provide on-site direction, mentorship, and support to crew members and apprentices. Ensure compliance with all

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)

regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements. Conduct daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and participate in safety inspections. Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow. Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Perform hands-on work as required, including carpentry, framing, drywalling, concrete forming, roofing, and other general construction duties. Monitor material usage and assist in maintaining inventory control on-site. Report progress, issues, and potential risks to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

Qualifications & Experience



Minimum

5 years of experience

in commercial construction or related trades. Proven leadership experience as a

Lead Hand, Foreperson, or Senior Carpenter

. Strong knowledge and experience in:

Carpentry and wood framing

Drywalling and finishing

Concrete forming and placement

Roofing and basic construction techniques

Familiarity with construction safety regulations and

OHS standards

in Alberta. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Effective communication and leadership skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from worksites. Current safety certifications (e.g.,

First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection, CSTS, or equivalent

) are considered an asset.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
