Job Description

The duties of a General Labourer include:

Shovelling, raking & other general labour duties. Staking & marking areas where work is to be performed. Operating grading laser level. Installation of hydro, water and sanitary services infrastructure. Site prep: chainsaw work, limbing, bucking and tree falling. Operating walk behind plate tamper. Occasional skid steer & roller compactor operation.

Ideal candidates of a General Labourer will possess the following:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a general labourer in the construction industry Must be proficient in the safe operation of a chainsaw, rock saw & tamper compactor. Must be physically fit and be able lift heavy objects. Must have a vehicle to commute to work and a valid class 5 driver's license, heavy trailer endorsement with a clean driver's abstract is an asset; Experience operating a skid steer is an asset. Experience installing storm, sanitary, water, hydro infrastructure is an asset; Willingness to learn new skills on the job. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member, while equally motivated working independently; Ability to adhere to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Summary

As a Construction General Labourer, you will be an integral part of our team, reporting directly to the site supervisor. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with various tasks on-site, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining a clean work environment. A valid Class 5 Licence is required for this role, enabling you to transport materials and equipment as needed. Your core skills in manual labor, teamwork, and safety awareness, along with relevant skills in equipment handling and site maintenance, will contribute significantly to the successful completion of our projects.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
