Position: Construction Foreman - Custom Home Builds



Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced, proactive

Construction Foreman

to join our high-performance team specializing in custom home construction. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, efficiency, and a deep understanding of all phases of residential construction, from foundation through finish. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in building right the first time, leads by example, and thrives in a dynamic, evolving worksite environment.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and coordinate a small team (3-5 members) of apprentices and labourers to ensure daily site productivity and accountability. Keep the team moving--proactively assigning tasks and ensuring no idle time. Maintain clear and timely communication with project management, trades as needed. Read, interpret, and adapt to evolving blueprints, schematics, and change orders. Oversee job site safety, quality control, and compliance with the BC Building Code and WCB regulations. Organize and estimate upcoming material needs weekly and communicate any delays or procurement needs. Support and train apprentices; mentor with respect and a team-oriented attitude. Collaborate with the general contractor on build methodology and execution strategy.

Qualifications & Expectations



You

currently reside in the Okanagan

and can

commute to Big White Monday through Thursday

(7:00 am - 5:30 pm). You are prepared to work indoors and outdoors. Indoor construction starts late November. Minimum

3 years of hands-on residential construction experience

, with at least

2 years in a supervisory role

. Strong understanding of framing timelines--our pace matches that of experienced framing crews, not finishing carpentry. Ability to manage time wisely, prioritize tasks, and avoid unnecessary distractions. Proven ability to lead by example--including participating in clean-up and working as part of the team, not above it. Solid blueprint reading and project estimation skills. Effective communicator who understands when detailed conversation is necessary and when it slows down progress. Physically fit and capable of lifting, climbing, standing for long periods, and working in rugged conditions in all weather

Compensation & Growth



Hourly Rate

: $35.00-$50.00/hr depending on experience and proven capability. Performance-based raises available after probation period; quality and reliability are rewarded.

Expected Weekly Hours

: 35-40

Project Duration

: Multi-year work available (3-5 years)
