Maecon Infrastructure is a leading construction firm specializing in concrete restoration of bridges, commercial and industrial infrastructure. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Foreman to join our team and oversee on-site construction activities at various jobsites all throughout Nova Scotia.




Position Overview:

Responsible for leading and overseeing site operations for active projects. Managing a team and keeping in close communication with the Project Management team.



Qualifications:


• Minimum 10 years of experience working in a construction setting.
• 2-3 years of construction supervision experience preferred but not required.
• Strong leadership skills to manage, motivate and promote productivity.
• Ability to quickly identify problems and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
• Able to work on your feet for long periods, capable of lifting 50 lbs repetitively, possess manual dexterity.
• Comfortable working variable hours and travelling to various locations throughout Nova Scotia.
• Capable of competently using technology to submit timesheets for crews, complete safety related paperwork, and communicate via email.
• In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
• Keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Valid, Class 5 license required.
• Condition 15 (Trailer endorsement) considered an asset.




Duties and Responsibilities:



• Manage and supervise all on-site activities and workers, including subcontractors and laborers.
• Coordinate with management team, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain detailed records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and any incidents.
• Allocate labor efficiently to meet project demands and adjust workforce as necessary.
• Ensure all work meets the project specifications, standards, and regulations.
• Ensure materials are available as needed, manage inventory, and plan ahead.
• Implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality of work.
• Develop and maintain work schedules, ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular inspections of work to ensure quality and adherence to design.
• Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the construction process.
• Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are in place and up to date.
• Address technical challenges and troubleshoot issues that arise during construction.
• Assist in audits and inspections by regulatory authorities or clients.
• Provide technical guidance and support to workers on-site.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings and progress reviews.
• Oversee the use and maintenance of construction equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform daily field level hazard assessments, inspections, and regular toolbox meetings.
• Provide safety training to workers and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Manage and respond to any accidents or safety incidents on site.




Compensation:



• Hourly rate determined by previous experience.
