THIS IS A PERMANENT FULL-TIME NON-BARGAINING UNIT POSITION.



LMCH is currently looking for a Construction Field Supervisor to work regularly scheduled hours on site in the London core area. You will be responsible for monitoring the progress of construction projects while ensuring compliance with specific safety regulations as well as supervising sub-contractors by monitoring and controlling their performance. We are searching for an individual who has experience in residential construction and will be able to meet operational standards by resolving problems, and identifying improvements. Incumbent will also be responsible for the overall performance and ensuring schedules are met on various capitol projects all while complying with Ontario Building Code and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:



Under the direction of the Director, Asset Renewal, the

Construction Field Supervisor

is responsible for managing on-site construction, restoration and special projects. The Field Supervisor has responsibility for overseeing assigned construction activities ensuring health and safety requirements are met, schedules are maintained, and work is completed based on scope and specifications. This position is a bargaining-excluded role.

2. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Assist the Asset Management Team in executing and managing projects including, but not limited to, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

Supervise contractor staff (ensure contractors are on site completing works within schedule) and they fulfill their contractual obligations safely, on time, and on budget.

Understand project methodology by the contractor and determine best practices and at-risk tasks.

Carry out site visits to track progress, ensure quality control and identify areas of concern to address immediately or escalate as appropriate.

Maintain deficiency tracking list and schedule works to complete.

Liaise in a collaborative way with LMCH staff (both unionized and non-unionized) to facilitate and support ongoing projects and initiatives as appropriate.

Provide solutions to tenant or LMCH team queries/concerns.

Facilitate the exchange of information between LMCH, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and bodies of authority in a professional, concise, and timely fashion.

Work with Management to review and approve invoices & construction draws, for accuracy and financial tracking.

Ensure occupancy letters are recorded and maintained.

Ensure tenant notice of entry are delivered on time.

Represent LMCH and the Asset Management Team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Identify and bring cost savings opportunities, scope gaps, and procedural improvements forward to Management.

Support the response to, and documentation of incidents on site including, but not limited to, injuries, property damage, theft, or harassment.

Liaise with regulatory officials including, but not limited to, Municipal Staff, Electrical Safety Authority, Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Labour, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

3. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS:



Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar or more senior role.

Knowledge of the construction and project management disciplines.

Experience in project management or project administration.

Strong construction, mechanical, and electrical knowledge.

Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications is a requirement.

Formal qualification in a construction discipline including project management, site superintendent.

Must possess a valid driver's license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and carry adequate insurance.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

5. POLICE RECORDS CHECK:



This position requires the successful candidate submit a current Police Records check from their local police service. A current LMCH employee who is the successful candidate for this position must also provide this document unless it is already on file and not more than one year old.

6. SALARY & BENEFITS:



Target salary range of $65,636.76 - $72,620.74; we also offer comprehensive health benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.

Normal working hours are 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday to Friday, with some work required outside of this schedule from time to time.
