Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, supporting project planning, and ensuring competitive pricing strategies. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing your expertise in estimating and project management to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction work.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed construction cost estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements. Utilize estimating software to develop accurate project bids. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms. Develop comprehensive project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Review and analyze subcontractor proposals and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing. Assist in the development of bid proposals, scope of work, and contractual documents. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to estimates. Support project management teams in planning and scheduling activities related to cost control.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology. Proficiency in estimating or project management software. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining professional relationships. Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of pricing strategies, labor rates, material costs, and industry standards. Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Ability to analyze complex data sets and develop accurate estimates under tight deadlines. Prior experience in heavy civil or commercial construction is preferred. Pay: $44,599.52-$71,958.87 per year

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
