Construction Estimator

Location: Springfield, Manitoba

Introduction: G.E.C. Group Electrical Contractors | North Ventures, has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Construction Estimator. This is a new role with significant growth potential, ideal for someone looking to build their career in a dynamic and hands-on environment.

We are looking for an experienced professional who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to accurately forecast project costs in a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the planning and execution phases of our residential and commercial construction projects.

As a Construction Estimator, you will:

Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for residential and/or commercial construction projects.

Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to fully understand the scope of work.

Perform comprehensive material takeoffs and develop clear cost breakdowns.

Solicit, gather, and accurately evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

Work closely with project managers and clients to clarify project scope and pricing.

Assist with budgeting, value engineering, and the preparation of formal bid submissions.

Maintain and update cost databases and pricing information as needed.

Contribute to building a positive and productive work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.

Your education and qualifications include:

2+ years of relevant experience as a Construction Estimator (or related field).

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant codes (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, or similar).

Excellent math, communication, and negotiation skills.

Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Demonstrated work ethic with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs.

A proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and achieving results.

Understanding and practices of Health and Safety would be an asset.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
