Construction Estimator / Project Manager

Job Description

Kintel General Contractors is looking to add to our team with a staff member who is passionate about their work and adds value to our existing team in the role of Project Manager and Estimating.

The candidate will takes ownership of projects by being responsible for the entire project delivery process and accountable for the implementation and realization of projects. As such, they will plan, organize, direct and manage all facets of construction projects and ensure they meet or exceed their pre-established cost, schedule and scope objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work independently or with other estimators to produce accurate estimates of materials and labour required for a project Prepare accurate quotations for customers Contribute to project costing and profitability analysis by providing a breakdown of budget costs and scope of work Assist in developing tools for improving accuracy and timeliness of estimating and cost tracking Perform review of documents, specification and drawings in preparation of estimate Perform quantity take-offs and site measurements where required. Contact and assemble pricing from material suppliers and Subcontractors Attend tender site meetings Schedule timing for tender meetings and closing dates Assemble and review all project addenda An engineering degree or technical diploma in Construction, Building, Civil or Architecture is desired Excellent knowledge of construction, contract management Top level expertise in project management, able to handle multiple projects at a time with shared pool of resources. Knowledge of construction management software is required Excellent knowledge of construction, contracts management and estimating Excellent budgeting and scheduling skills Ability to deal effectively with a heavy volume of projects Ability to manage multiple project teams and ensure effectiveness of these teams Strong computer skills, advanced knowledge of MS Project Ability to quickly build strong relationships and resolve complex issues and conflicts (with internal team, clients, and trades) Experience managing and supervising staff with the ability to work as a leader, in a team environment Exceptional time management and negotiating skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills Extensive understanding of project management principles, methods and techniques
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to manage construction projects with no supervision Ability to estimate construction projects with no supervision Minimum 10 years experience in project management and estimating Ability to establish trade contracts Ability to serve clients in a professional manner Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) Ability to work within flexible hours in order to accommodate tender timelines Proficient in the English language and good communication skills
